Scootering Classes
Does your dog pull you while your walking?  Why not harness that trait and learn how to scooter with your canine friend. They love the exercise and you will too! Bond with your dog while you are both having the fun of your life. Easy to learn and get started right away. A tired dog is a good dog. Kids love it too! There is little doubt that some dogs just love to pull. They like to be out it front and they aren't the least bothered by putting quite a bit of effort into it. One of the things I liked about getting involved in dog sports was seeing that some dogs, like some people, really enjoy achieving difficult things.
When we first discovered scootering, what it meant to me was freedom, I could go anywhere. We could run for miles together in any direction. This was not something we could do before, we were limited. I was getting a workout my dog was getting a workout, building strength and aerobic fitness, and we were outdoors together. We were learning to work together, another benefit I didn't completely understand then . We learned to perform together. We learned how to communicate and read each other's signals. And we built a relationship that's based on getting outdoors and having a good time.
Does your dog weigh just thirty pounds? Cocker Spaniel, Poodles,  etc. running like fury pulling their scooter. Eighty pounds? No problem! Two dogs weighing 15 pounds each? Why not? My Rat Terriers get involved weighing in at 15 lbs each. Size is less important than you think. Little dogs can scooter. You scoot the scooter and they run in front and keep the line tight. Think of it as walking the dog with a scooter instead of a leash. Scoooter wheels offer little resistance. When you use a scooter, you can kick on the flats to help the dog maintain its speed. Run beside the scooter when going uphill. Dog Scootering exercises both you and the dog
Does your dog loves to run, and if you find you can not walk him/her enough, or if they pull your arm off, and you would not want your kids or you mother to walk them, I have a solution for you. Do you have to drive to the dog park each night and are finding it expensive, or not so much fun, try the newest dog sport SCOOTERING! Slip your dog into a sled harness, rope him to a scooter, jump on the scooter and let her/him run….
Your furry friend and you become a mini mushing team. Your ride the scooter and he pulls. Scooter dogs can run for a few city blocks or for 5-20 miles plus, on back country trails and roads and greenways. Give it a try you will have the time or your life and your dog will love it. A tired family is a good family!
