  • Having difficulty in swallowing?
  • Gradually losing its appetite?
  • Experiencing infrequent or abnormal bowel movements?
  • Straining in breathing or coughing?
  • Blue, white or very pale gums
  • Collapse or loss of consciousness
  • Walking in obvious pain or inability to walk?
  • Extremely bloated abdomen
  • Urinating with difficulty?
  • Showing a dull coat of hair?
  • Scratching frequently from fleas or other parasites?
  • Frequently rubbing its ears?
  • Experiencing red gums or bad breath/odor?
  • Discharging matter from its eyes?
  • Growing lumps your hands find as they run over its body?
  • Chewing at their feet or other areas?
  • Seizures
  • Dizziness, imbalance, or circling
  •  Signs of acute severe pain (such as crying out very loudly and excessively)
  • Body temperature over 104 or under 99 (normal is typically 100.5-102.5)
If you find any of these problems, or note anything else which appears to be a departure from your pet's normal, healthy condition, it's worth a phone call before a potential problem becomes serious, painful and expensive.
